Cerakoating The Benjamin Akela

Cerakoating The Benjamin Akela

We dedicated considerable time to distinguish the akela from its counterparts, ultimately opting for a cerakote in Burnt Bronze. The procedure, while not overly complex, demanded meticulous attention to detail—every component had to be thoroughly stripped, sandblasted, and degreased to avoid any adhesion problems. Utilizing a compact spray gun, we applied the coating and adhered to the 15-minute wait time as per the guidelines before placing the parts into an oven at 250°F for two hours. The cerakote's ultra-fine application ensures it doesn't hinder the mechanical action or part mobility when done correctly. The result was aesthetically pleasing, at least by our standards. To finalize the customization, we employed a laser engraver to restore all previous logos and caliber details. The effort was undoubtedly justified by the outcome.
